A few weeks back my FSS (future stepson) celebrated his 10th birthday. We asked him what he wanted for a party and he chose a Minecraft one. That inevitably meant I had to go on a Pinterest search for Minecraft birthday party decorations. We had a limited budget to work with, so I got creative and made some decorations. He was thrilled with the results, as were my children. If you’re looking for budget-friendly options for a Minecraft party, these ideas will help you.
As you can see, we used a white tablecloth that was leftover from my baby shower back before my son was born….six years ago. LOL! The white tablecloth represented the snowy areas in Minecraft.
We also hung up streamers that went with the colors in Minecraft.
The plates were super easy to make. I cut out the black shapes needed for the eyes and mouth and we used rolled up tape to stick them to the green plate. We then taped a clear plate on top of it. You can use a glue gun if you have one on hand. We didn’t, so we made due with tape. They aren’t pretty and perfect, but young kids still love them.
All I did when it came to making the cups is used the black permanent marker to draw the faces. I admit, I’m no Picasso, but again FSS was happy with the end result…and that’s all that matters to me.
Oh – I so love this idea. My little one turns 7 on Saturday, and asked for a Mindcraft party- thanks for giving me insight into creating one for him.
You’re welcome. My boyfriend’s son loved it.
