Valentine’s Day is only a couple weeks away, so I thought I’d share with all of you the “52 Reasons I Love You” present that I made my boyfriend. Homemade presents like this one are always a great way to show someone how much you care for them.
These cards weren’t hard to make, and most of the materials you need you can find in your own home, depending on how intricate and fancy you want to make them. Mine were fairly simple. Although, I’ve seen some really amazing ones on Pinterest.
Supplies I Used:
One deck of cards. (You’ll need the two Joker cards too!)
Scrapbook paper (I used a book of paper that I bought at Walmart.)
Scrapbook Stickers (The key sticker I used was from a couple’s scrapbooking kit I got on sale at Walmart.)
Black Sharpie Marker
Two Loose Leaf Rings
Glue Sticks

Steps:
1- Cut out pieces of scrapbook paper that cover the entire card.
2- Glue paper on. Use plenty of glue so the paper doesn’t fall off. I saw some people recommend using sandpaper on the cards to make it so the paper sticks to the cards better, but I didn’t. I used the purple glue sticks from Elmer’s because it allows you to see if the whole card is covered with glue.
3- Use a single whole punch to punch holes into each card. I recommend measuring to make sure each hole is in the same spot on each card or you will end up with holes that rip, like I did. If that happens, though, don’t fret. You can always buy Reinforcement Stickers to fix the problem.
4- Write a reason you love your loved one on each card. You can do this before you punch the cards, but again, you may end up messing them up if you did that. I ended up with holes over some of my words. You can still read them but they’d look much prettier without the errors.
Even with the mistakes on the cards, the boyfriend loved and appreciated the cards. They put a smile on his face, just like everything I make him does. He doesn’t care about perfection. He cares about the thought and meaning behind the present.

Since I know some of you are going to ask for some ideas of what to write on the cards, I’m going to share some of my ideas with you to give you a starting point. If you have anymore questions after reading this post, please don’t hesitate to contact me at [email protected] or leave a comment below, and I will respond as soon as possible.
