Disclosure: This post is brought to you by York’s Wild Kingdom. I was given free passes to the park in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and photos are my own.
I can’t believe it’s been two years since we last took my two rugrats to York’s Wild Kingdom. I can’t remember why we didn’t last year, but I suspect it had to do with our crazy schedule. (My husband and I got married last year!)
This year we got to take all four kids to York’s Wild Kingdom before it got to hot and weren’t able to enjoy the zoo and amusement park. The last time we went, it was over 100° and had to leave early.
And when we left, my daughter and then boyfriend both got sick and ended up puking. I don’t recommend going when it’s that hot, even if you have frequent drinks. We still enjoyed ourselves but it would have been more enjoyable had that not occurred.
This year, though, could not have been more perfect. The smiles on the kids’ faces was priceless, as was the smiles I saw coming from my husband.
We arrived at York’s Wild Kingdom shortly after it opened so it wasn’t too busy, so we were able to take our time walking around the zoo portion of the park. One of the first sights we saw was the picture below.
How cute is that baby?
That wasn’t the only baby we saw while there. The little mother of the little guy in the photo below was teaching him how to climb and swing. It was adorable!!
Since I don’t want to bog down this post with all of the photos I took while there, I’m putting them into a slideshow you can watch at the bottom of this post.
Another of my favorite moments was when we were in the goat pen. The kids had a blast feeding the goats.
I was really pleased with how this photo came out too. The colors are gorgeous! I’m so grateful for the camera I have now that allows me to take photos like this.
My favorite place in the entire zoo, though, is the Butterfly Kingdom.
And my favorite butterfly is this beauty.
As for the amusement park side of things, the kids rode rides for hours. And they even got me to go on the ferris wheel. something I haven’t done in years. I think the last time was actually when I was about the same age as them. So yeah…a long time since I’m turning 33 on Thursday.
Is it obvious I was about to pee my pants?
And without further ado, here is the slideshow I promised. It contains some truly beautiful photos.
