I am so very grateful for my family for they made this birthday very special for me.
The past week has been a great one, even if there have been a few rough moments. Having my boyfriend’s kids leave for Florida for a week was hard, as was having my kids up north for four nights. It was an adjustment for us. We’re not used to having our children gone for that long. Granted, it was worse for him since this was the first time his kids went somewhere that far away. I have a hard time letting my kids go to their father’s parents’ house in Lincoln, Maine, and that’s only five hours from us. I can’t imagine how I would be if they went to Florida. I’d most definitely be a wreck. Hell, I am when they do go to Lincoln.
Aside from that, though, the past week was filled with some great moments. Tuesday was my 31st birthday and it was also the day 533+ bloggers got to debut the new Delivery Man trailer for Disney. That was a huge moment for those who took part because our sites were included on the press release about the movie, which was posted on the Delivery Man Facebook page.
My birthday kicked off with my boyfriend and our kids giving me the beautiful earrings below. (He also got me tickets to see Rascal Flatts in August a few weeks back. I can’t wait for the concert!)
We then went out to dinner on Tuesday night with all four kids, which is not something we get to do very often since it gets expensive to go out with all six of us. It was a nice splurge, though, even if my boyfriend’s son felt the need to embarrass me by having the staff at Applebee’s sing their Birthday Song.
On Wednesday, I dropped my kids off with my mom so they could spend a long weekend with my parents and their father. Later that night the boyfriend and I took his kids to his friend’s sister’s camp on the lake to watch the fireworks. We got to watch from their balcony that looked out over Winnipesaukee.
On Thursday, we took the kids to the Tilt’n Diner for breakfast and then we walked along Franklin Falls Dam. (See sideshow below.) It was extremely warm out but it felt so nice to be outside and enjoying the sunshine after getting so much rain. We all ended up very sweaty. Later that afternoon we said goodbye to the kids. (They left early the next morning for Florida.)

On Friday, my boyfriend and I worked on a new project that I will be posting on here very soon. We then went to the Mall of Manchester to pick up something for his daughter’s birthday party next weekend. I even stopped in Bath & Body Works and got the items below for $13!! I was stoked.
We also had to stop and buy the keychain below for his niece who has been saying for years that she wanted a Mercedes for her 16th birthday.
We then met her for dinner. It was my first time meeting her. She’s like a second daughter to my boyfriend, so I knew it was a big deal for him. He need not have worried, though, because I loved her. She’s a great girl.
And that brings us to yesterday. I got up early and drove to Maine to spend the day shopping with my mom and brother. We went to McKinnon’s Market, Trader Joes and the Christmas Tree Shop. I haven’t done that in a long time, and I think it was something we all needed.
Once we got back to my parents’ place, my brother and I talked my mother into letting us take her to the emergency room to have her arm looked at. She made the mistake of trying to split up two of her dogs who were bickering over a spot on her bed. The light wasn’t on, so she couldn’t see where their heads were and one accidentally bit her. Her arms was red and swollen, and we were concerned she was developing Cellulitis again. We remembered how bad it got last time, and how much pain she was in, so we convinced her to let us take her to the hospital. It turns out she has Cellulitis again, so I’m glad she let us take her.
Last night, once we got back from the hospital, my parents, aunt and uncle, their daughter and her boyfriend, my ex, my kids, my boyfriend and I had dinner. My mom made a vegetable lasagna and my aunt made a regular one. My choice for dessert was chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting.
