Over the course of the next few weeks, I will be writing a slew of wedding-related posts to share with all of you. I wanted to wait until after my husband and I got married before I shared some of what we did to prepare for our wedding. And, of course, I want to share with all of you what our wedding was like, as well as our honeymoon. (Hint: It was AMAZING!)
During the months leading up to the wedding, I spent MANY hours on Pinterest, looking for beautiful wedding photo ideas. It was extremely important to me to have photos taken during this wedding. And since my brother takes gorgeous photos, I was super excited when he said he would take photos for me. He told me to find ideas for him.
When planning our wedding, we chose to have an outdoor wedding. My husband’s last wedding was in a church and he wanted something that was different and showed more of his personality.
I wanted our pictures to be beautiful, showcase how truly happy we finally are and not have them looked stuffy and posed, like most church photos are. For some those photos are okay, but for me, a bonafied country girl who loves the outdoors and grew up playing in the mud, fishing, etc., I needed photos that were more relaxed, carefree and included nature.
Well, I wasn’t disappointed. My brother got some great shots. And I’ve only seen a small handful. He has many more to process and I can’t wait to see how they came out.
Here are the ones that I have from him so far.
This is our first kiss as man and wife.
This photo was taken in front of an old ice shed that used to hold ice for the houses in the surrounding area. There’s history there and I love it.
The exchanging of the rings.
I absolutely love that both of these photos are in black and white. I have plans for them.
After our first kiss.
This photo really doesn’t need an explanation. It’s my favorite thus far and I’m sure you can see why.
In addition, my mom and my brother’s friend took a bunch of photos which I will hopefully be sharing with all of you, as well. You can never have too many wedding photo ideas. I have a whole Pinterest board filled with them.
Unfortunately, though, I can’t share some of my favorite photos with all of you because my stepchildren are in them, and I can’t share their photos on my site, as much as I would love to. Even though they aren’t included in the photos on here, I must say that they are just as important as my children, and I’m extremely proud to be their step/bonus mom.
Congrats, Nicole! You look so fabulously happy. 🙂
