One of my biggest dislikes is food grease. And grease disposal can be a messy bitch. I used to dump it in an empty container before but always ended up with a dripping mess all over the outside of the container and usually on the counter, as well. I have found two ways, though, to dispose of it that make it less disgusting.
1- If you love you bacon as much as our family does, but hate the splatter, line a baking sheet with a piece of aluminum foil. Then lay your bacon out flat and cook at 400 degrees for 15-20 minutes, or until bacon is at your desired level of crispiness. Once bacon is done, remove it from the baking sheet. Once the sheet has cooled off, roll up the aluminum foil and throw away. (And don’t worry. If you’ve never cooked bacon like this, and are worried it won’t be as good as frying it on the stove top, I assure you, it gets just as crispy and tastes the same.)
2- If you’re cooking hamburger, the best way to dispose of grease is the way I did the other night. (Gosh, I love Pinterest. I get some great ideas from there.)
All you need to do is place a piece of aluminum foil in a bowl. Place your strainer over the top and dump your hamburger meat into it to drain out the grease. Once the grease has hardened, pick up the aluminum foil, fold the top closed and toss. Doing it this way avoids the greasy mess of just dumping it into the garbage can, which I HATE.
That’s a great idea. So simple, yet practical. My husband always dumps the grease into a MUG and that drives me crazy.

My boyfriend used to dump it down the drain! The first time I saw him do that, I gasped. I’ve always been the type to drain the meat into a bowl. And cleaning it up was always nasty because I got the grease everywhere. This way is so much cleaner. And I absolutely want to link up.
