My struggle with acne began when I was about 11 years old. By the time I was 13, I was already on medication to help treat it, none of which really worked. Since then, I’ve progressed from having blackheads and white heads, to cysts. Very painful cysts.
And I’ve tried other medicines and forms of treatment, including birth control and many MANY different face washes, to help combat my acne, with little to no change. The clearest I ever saw my skin was during the ends of both of my pregnancies and for the first six to eight months after my kids’ births.
In addition to the various different forms of treatment I’ve tried, I also don’t use cheap makeup because I can’t. I have to make sure all that I use says noncomedogenic somewhere on it because it’s less harsh on my skin. Doctors orders.
I also have to be careful of which face washes I use because most dry me out to the point I can’t move my mouth. My skin ends up tight and flaky. It’s disgusting.
I’ve always wanted beautiful, flawless, scar-free skin. And I will NEVER have that. No matter what I do, my acne scars will always be there. But it would be nice to have no more acne…to feel as beautiful as my husband says I am.
I suffered through many years of bullying in school because of the way my face looked.Boys didn’t really notice me much, and if they did, it was to make comments about how I looked. None of them understood that I didn’t ask to look the way I did. If I had a choice back then, I wouldn’t have chosen that. Who would?
And now that I’m adult in her 30s, I still don’t want to deal with acne. And yet I have to. On my wedding day I had to deal with a cyst. Yes, that’s a cyst you see in the picture, NOT a dimple. Although, since the quality of this selfie of my cousin and I isn’t the greatest, I can pretend it’s a dimple if I really want to. (Note: The above selfie was taken BEFORE I started using Silk’n Blue.)
When I was given the opportunity to try out Silk’n Blue to see if it would help my acne, I was over-the-moon excited despite the years of disappointment I’ve experienced. I was skeptical, too, though. Who wouldn’t be in my shoes?
I breakout here and there throughout the month, with most centered around ovulation and my period, so I couldn’t wait to see how this product would help my skin and my mind. My issues with acne go deeper than my skin.
Well, I’ve been using Silk’n Blue for about a month now, and I must say, not only have I noticed a difference in my skin, my husband has too. My skin is a lot clearer now.
When I put on makeup my face looks better than ever. I don’t need to wear as much cover up, and I definitely feel more confident about the way my skin looks.
It’s smoother.
There’s less redness and less breakouts.
However, now that Mother Nature is sending Aunt Flo my way, I am experiencing a mild breakout. The difference between now and every other month is that as soon as I see the start of a pimple, I use Silk’n Blue. I put the device on my skin in the morning and at night for the recommended 3 to 5 minutes, and usually by the next morning I see a noticeable difference in size and color.
In fact, a breakout started before my husband’s best friend’s wedding, so I used Silk’n Blue in hopes I wouldn’t have a massive red pimple on my face the day off his friend’s nuptials.
And as you can see in the photo above, my skin looked loads better the day of his wedding. It’s still wasn’t perfect, as you can see, but I definitely felt beautiful that night.
And a few days later, I took the photo below and was impressed by how great my skin looked.
This is the most flawless it’s ever looked. And I love it.
Granted, I’m still going to keep wearing makeup several times per week (and I was in the photo above) because I love playing up my features. However, I now frequent the store, and other places, without makeup most of the time. That is HUGE for me.
Things you should know before using Silk’n Blue:
- Use daily to achieve the best results – I use it almost every day for 1-2 times per day, usually in the morning and at night.
- The applicator should be used on each acne spot for 3-5 minutes. If you have several spots that need to be treated, it can take up to 20 mins total.
- Silk’n Blue should NOT be used on eczema, psoriasis, lesions, open wounds, active infections, like cold sores, and on abnormal skin conditions.
- You should NOTuseSilk’n Blue until you’ve cleared its use with your primary care physician if:
- You’re currently using AHA, BHA, Retin-A, topical retinoids or azelaic acid.
- You’ve been treated with Accutane within the past six months.
- You have a history of herpes outbreaks in the area you’ll be treating with the device.
Silk’n Blue features and benefits:
- Hand-held light device that you can use at home…or anywhere, for that matter, to treat mild to moderate acne. (It will not treat cysts effectively. I tried to use it on one that developed after my wedding, and while it did reduce the size temporarily, I had to let the cyst run its course.)
- The fractional blue light emitted by the device is the same that dermatologists’ offices use.
- Has a built-in temperature sensor that prevents it from exceeding 41ºC.
- Begins neutralizing the bacteria that causes acne during its first use AND it help prevents future breakouts.
- Fast and visible results are reported. You can expect to see clearer, beautiful skin from between 3-7 weeks
- Clinically proven
- Dermatologist recommended
- Natural and drug-free
- FDA-approved and Health Canada-cleared

Well, I agree with your husband. You are beautiful. Before and after. That being said, I can’t imagine the pain you have been through, because kids can be just plain awful. I was called Dog-face Case during junior high (maiden name). Still hurts.
I am so happy that this product has helped bring out your inner beauty so you can feel more confident.
God bless and keep shining!

Wow, such amazing results! My eldest daughter is starting to develop a few pimples, we’re hoping it’s not acne, but we will keep this product in mind.

Thanks, Jami. It’s definitely something I recommend for teens who are struggling with acne. My stepdaughter is even using it now to help with the few she has. She loves it.
