Yesterday the fiance and I spent the day running errands for our wedding. We still have three months until the wedding, but we don’t want to wait until the last minute to get stuff done. If we do that, I will end up super stressed, which wouldn’t be good for any of us.
One of the places we stopped at was Rue21. We have an outlet store right near us that we love to buy clothes for our girls. We saw a couple of dresses online that we thought would be good for the wedding (we’ve since changed our minds), so we wanted to check them out in person. While there, we browsed the sales rack and got the two shirts below for a total of $8. The camo vest cost a whole $2. Yes, you read that right.
We did make a few additional stops yesterday and one was at a thrift store on the way to Concord, NH.
I know others look down on those who shop in thrift stores and dollar stores, like they think they are above stores like that. They think those who do shop there are trash, but I’m not one of those people. With four kids and a fixed income, we have to cut costs where we can, so this is how we do it.
And lucky for me, my fiance thinks exactly like I do, so he’s all for bargain shopping and gets just as excited as I do when we find a good deal.
Anyway, we got the items below for $23.25 total.
The Bruins jersey is for my fiance and cost $7.
The sign is for my mom and cost $3.00. (My fiance is the one who spotted it and thought she would like it. He’s always thinking of her, which makes me smile. He’s so incredibly kind and generous, and I’m so lucky he treats my family as his family. I wouldn’t have it any other way.)
The three books ($.25 each) are for me and the movie ($2) is for my fiance.
Style&Co. purses similar to the one above usually have a full retail cost of $78 to $88. I got it for $4!! Yep…that’s a steal.
The soccer ball was $3.00. The glove was $3.50.
To those of you like myself, happy bargain shopping! Don’t be afraid to share your great deals with me. I love hearing about how others save money.
