For as long as I can remember, I’ve hated drinking water from the sink. To me, it tasted horrible, and I tried to avoid it at as much as possible. It didn’t matter if it was well water or town water. I didn’t like it, and as a result, never drank as much as I should have. However, nowadays I need to be more diligent about how much I drink. It does get expensive, though, when you have to purchase several cases of water per week, especially when you’re not the only one drinking it. With six of us in this house, we go through cases of water fairly quickly.
Since I’ve had an aversion to tap water for a long time, I was thrilled to be given the opportunity to review the MAVEA product line. I was open to the possibility of drinking sink water IF it tasted good. I went into the product with an open mind.
I wasn’t disappointed…at all. I was quite surprised when I tasted the water from one of the individual water bottles I was sent. It works amazingly well, and I actually don’t hesitate to drink water now. Yay!
The water bottles are great for when I’m on the go and want to take a water with me. The carafe works great for when I’m working in my office in the basement and want to be able to refill a glass as I work that way I don’t have to run back upstairs as often.
Even our kids were eager to try the pitcher and carafe to see if they worked as well as the water bottles did. Yes, the filtration process takes a bit longer than it does with the water bottle, but if you make a point to fill up both items when they get low, you won’t run out. My stepson is actually the best besides me about refilling both the pitcher and carafe.
As far as cleaning goes, these products are extremely easy to clean. You just need to make sure you don’t wash the discs. To be safe, though they are dishwasher safe, I still wash everything by hand.
