I can’t believe it’s been several weeks since we met my mom to pick up the newest member of our family. But it has. And let me tell you…it’s been an interesting few weeks filled with hilarious moments and frustrating ones. In that time, we’ve grown to love this little face. And how couldn’t we? Look at it!
I never knew one tiny puppy could pee and poop so much. I swear she’s a machine. A VERY efficient machine.
Aside from her abundance of bodily fluids, I’ve found that she’s a cuddler. And that’s not a bad thing. She is quite the lovebug, as you can see. She loves to curl up against you and sleep.
Don’t let her cuteness fool you, though. She is a hellion! It’s like having a toddler in the house. A toddler who gets into every single thing and will chew anything in sight. In fact, she tries to steal my underwear from the laundry. *shudder*
Not only is she an underwear thief, she’s also a living, breathing neck warmer. And as sweet as it is to know she loves me that much, it is EXTREMELY hard to work with her draped around my neck.
Seriously, after a couple of minutes my neck and back start hurting. And since I have issues with my neck and back because I work so much on the computer, it’s not the best idea to have a dog wrapped around my neck, even if she does only weight 7lbs. soaking wet.
One of the things I really wanted to share with you that we’ve learned about our puppy is that she has a really strange fear. No, it’s not a vacuum. Although, she hates them too. It’s something much, MUCH sinister.
Seriously, this is what scares her. Yes, it’s a loofah. My mom and dad bought me two for Christmas and when Zoe saw them in my hand, she freaked out and started barking and walking backwards.
And when she realized there is one hanging in the shower, she stopped going near it. She now hangs out near the toilet and waits until we hide the loofah before she’ll move.
Do we have the only dog with a weird fear? Please share what your dog is afraid of below.
Too funny. Maybe it is the bright color. Chewy is petrified of vaccuum cleaners so we never ever use it unless she is outside. As an English Mastiff you don’t want her to be upset – she could chew apart my vaccuum in one bite. So we have a silent, manual carpet sweeper to use when she is in the house. But she even attacks that! And what is worse – while she is attacking the carpet sweeper, Xena can’t figure out what is wrong with her so she keeps biting Chewy’s back legs. Totally crazy.

I thought at first it was the bright color but I nixed that idea when I saw her reaction to the one in the bathroom, which is a very pale pink.
Our pug loves to attack our ancient vacuum cleaner. She’s just SO fierce. I’m sure when you’re two go at it, it’s even funnier…and crazy. Maybe I should invest in a carpet sweeper too. I wonder if it would help.
My dog, Pixie, is curious about instruments and will go near them but when she hears their sound, she backs away.
Like your dog, she’s also naughty. We used to leave her in our living room and closed all the doors when we left the house but she chewed up different things. The corner of a library book, a candle, paint, electric blanket wire, the list goes on and on of what’s gone into her mouth!
But her cuteness makes up for all that. She’s a great snuggle buddy and guard dog. (If weighing 14 pounds and small and barking at “bad things” on “her street” like cats and dogs and people and nothing makes you a guard dog!) She loves to play rough with my dad and I like to walk her, train her, and play soccer with her (she’s great at defense)!
Bottom line: She can be naughty and make us go bananas but words could NEVER tell or describe how much we love her! She has been such a blessing and a joy in our lives for the 3 years we’ve had her. I wouldn’t get any dog other than her. She’s just Pixie.
Little Tink is an underwear thief too. Good gravy. I can’t do anything but laugh at it now. No matter what I do, she still finds them!

It’s so annoying and gross when they steal underwear. Zoe does it constantly. She has no issues with taking them out of the laundry basket.
