Life is a messy thing, and there’s no denying it. No matter what stage you’re in, stains have a way of finding you, especially when you least expect them. They aren’t something that disappear once you reach adulthood either, though I wish they did. I speak from personal experience. I’ve tossed out many pieces of clothing due to a stubborn stain that wouldn’t come out of my clothes no matter what I tried to do to get rid of it.
When it comes to our four children, it seems like there’s always a stain to battle with. Three of our four kids play sports, which means a lot of stains. When both of my biological children were babies, the biggest issue we had to deal with was spitup. Both of them had different issues that caused problems. My daughter had colic and my son had an allergy to dairy. Needless to say, they ended up with formula all over them…and I ended up with stained shirts, too.
Now that my kids are older and I’m remarried to a man with two children of his own, plus two furbabies, the stains, sadly, have multiplied and it’s almost become a contest between the two boys to see who can get the most stains. Yes, our girls stain their shirts here and there. My stepdaughter, for example, loves to talk with her hands, which sometimes means food flies everywhere.
The boys, though, they are the worst with my eight-year-old son topping the list. He stains clothes the most. The worst times of year are during baseball and soccer season when both boys end up covered in mud and grass stains from head to toe. And my son doesn’t even practice sliding yet in baseball, so how he managed to get as dirty as he did this past season is beyond me.
Their stains don’t just happen on the field, though. Both boys are extremely messy eaters who like to compete with each other. Yes, even the dinner table is filled with competition: who can eat the most hotdogs or the most tacos. And with both competitions comes stain-causing items: ketchup, barbecue sauce, taco sauce and salsa. Some of those things end up in their mouths and on the table while the rest ends up on their shirts and pants. We can’t afford to throw their clothing away, so fight those stains, we must.

Below are some before and after photos that show the stain-fighting power in OxiClean™ Max Force™ products. One of them is from when my eight-year-old thought it was a good idea to crack mollusks open with a stick then throw the broken pieces back into the water, which resulted in him slicing his foot open. And let me tell you, it may have been a small cut but he got blood EVERYWHERE, including on my husband who had to play doctor since mommy’s stomach is too weak to handle it.
Have you tried the new OxiClean™ Max Force™ products yet? If so, which one is your favorite?
