Like many people I know, I have given some thought to New Year’s resolutions. Last year was a rough year for me in so many ways, and I certainly don’t want a repeat of it. I’m not sure I could handle another year that is as rough as the last was.
I can honestly say, though, that 2012 ended on a far better note than it started. I welcomed in the New Year with family: my son and daughter, my boyfriend, Chris, and his two kids. Although, Blake fell asleep long before the ball dropped. The other three managed to stay up, but they were looking very tired by the time they finally crawled into bed. Poor kiddos.
Anyway, back to my New Year’s resolutions.
Chris and I discussed a couple times what ours should be. I thought we both should focus on the following since we had less than stellar years.
- Count our blessings every day
- Focus on being happy
- Leaving our pasts in the past and looking towards our future together
In addition to the above resolutions, I made a couple on my own.
- Write at least one blog post per day for this site. Coupons are posted automatically for me but I want to make sure I create new content, as well. If there’s time, I’m going to try and write at least one post per day for my author site, as well.
- Spend more time on my creative writing once I move to New Hampshire. Chris is extremely supportive of my craft and wants me to continue doing what I love…my calling. I can’t tell you how much it means to me that he is as supportive of my dream as he is. I told him the last time I visited him in Franklin that I would write at least 2,000 words per day, and I want to stick to that goal because I don’t want to disappoint him. I want him to be proud of me.
And like always, I do want to lose more weight. That’s been a continuing work in progress. Over the past two years, I’ve lost 50 lbs. There have been times I’ve gained some back and then lost it again. In order to lose more, I want to dedicate more time to working out. I haven’t been as diligent as I should have been over the past six months due to stressful situations in my life. I want to get back to what makes me feel good. Doing a daily Pilates and yoga workout makes me feel great, so it’s time I get back to it. Becoming more fit isn’t just for me. It’s for my kids. It’s for Chris. It’s for his two kids. I want to be the best I can be for them. They’re counting on me.
