Since January 2011, I’ve been trying to get myself into shape by losing weight and exercising. Certain events in my life have derailed me a couple times since then, but I have managed to lose almost 50lbs. And no, I didn’t go to a gym to do it. To be honest, I’m not big into the gym atmosphere. Maybe if I had someone to go with, it would be different, but I don’t, so I workout at home. And it works just fine for me.
To start I used my Wii and my Wii Fit Board. I eventually bought one of the EA Active games to use with the board and that did a world of good. Since then, I’ve been using Netflix and their various workouts that are available through their Watch Instantly option. There are some amazing Pilates and Yoga workouts that I fell in love with. It also helps that the monthly fee to utilize Watch Instantly is cheaper than going out and buying a ton of DVDs that you’ll end up not liking. You can try out ones through Netflix that interest you to see if they’re a good fit before spending your hard earned money.
Recently, a friend of mine told me about an ab workout she found on YouTube. I’ve seen her abs in pictures. They’re insane. You can tell she’s worked very hard to get to where she is. So I decided to try the workout. I LOVED IT!! If you’re a beginner, stick to the video exactly. If you’re not and have been working out for some time, strengthening your core, you may need to do this workout a couple times per day and increase the reps you do. I had to in order to give myself a proper workout. I’m at 25 reps per exercise. I’ve been slacking a bit the past few weeks, though, because there’s been a lot going on in my life but come Monday, I will be back to doing it twice a day.
Good luck to all of you who trying to lose weight and get fit. It’s not easy, but it’s totally worth it.
Now, here’s the ab workout video that I just mentioned above. Enjoy!
