This morning after Blake and I dropped his older sister off at school, we returned home and the first question out of his mouth was, “Can we make cookies now? I want this kind.” He grabbed the mix for chocolate chip cookies off the counter and showed it to me with a grin on his chubby little face and his brown eyes sparkling. How could I resist?
Blake then asked if he could help and I said yes. While his sister will usually only help for five minutes or until she gets bored, he will stay by my side the entire time if I allow it and help me. He’s a future chef in the making. As you can see in the picture below, he’s quite the helper.
Since we made so many, I divided the cookies up between 10 sandwich baggies for freezing. As the kids want them, they can pull them out and let them defrost. I really need to do this once a month with cookies, brownies and muffins. It would be so much cheaper. I should do it on my weekend with the kids because it’s something we could do together and that Blake would enjoy.
Here’s a picture of the peanut butter blossom cookies I also made. Blake stole one from the plate and ate the Hershey Kiss off it and put the cookie back, the little twerp. I told him he has to eat the whole thing and he just laughed and said, “No, I don’t”. Darn kid.
