Recently I began researching the connection between acne and gluten. I found that consuming gluten can make your acne worse, so I decided after years of struggling with cystic acne, the worst kind you can have, that it was time to make some serious changes in my diet. For someone like me who LOVES pasta, pizza, tortillas, bread, etc., going gluten-free presents a challenge. How do I give up the things I love the most?
Well, I’m fortunate enough to work for Take 2 Dough Productions/PaneBelle, Inc. who produce a line of gluten-free products, including dough, all purpose flour, breadcrumbs, pizza crusts and dessert bars, which means I don’t have to give up my favorite meals or eat gluten-free foods that taste horrible. (And trust me, there are a ton on the market which are disgusting, to say the least.)
One thing I was pleased to discover a couple months back is that there are some decent pastas you can purchase that taste great and you can’t tell are gluten-free. My goal is to make homemade mac ‘n cheese with gluten-free pasta, cheese and PaneBelle’s breadcrumbs. This happens to be one of my favorite meals, so if I can get it as close to the original as possible, I will be one happy girl.
My maine goal now is to find a way to modify my other favorite recipes to make them gluten-free. I’m also looking for some of your favorite gluten-free recipes or suggestions. Please leave a comment below if you have any.
