Disclosure: This a sponsored post from CARD.com. They provided me with a card from their site preloaded with money in exchange for a 100% honest review. No other compensation was given. All thoughts expressed within this post, as well as included photos, are my own.
While most people these days have bank accounts, there are some who don’t, like my boyfriend’s ex-father-inlaw. For people like him, CARD.com offers a solution. Through their site you can order a free card, activate it and load it with funds. That means you have a debit card and credit card solution at your very fingertips. That means you don’t have to open a bank account or go into debt.
One of the great options that CARD.com offers is a very wide selection of card designs. That means you can pick one to suit your own unique personality. For this review, I picked the Honey Badger card. (Yes, I’m a fan of the Honey Badger and Randall, and I have my own Honey Badger days, so I thought it was the perfect fit for me.)
Some of the other options to choose from include a bulldog, Popeye, Shark Week and more.
It’s also important to note that unlike gift cards, you DO NOT have to throw your card away once you’ve used all the money on it. You can simply reload it and continue using it.
Each card is free to order, activate and load for the first 30 days. After that, you will have to pay $5.95 per month unless you deposit at least $800 onto it. Then the fee is waived. As CARD.com points out, this is the fee charged by Walmart for their prepaid cards and is less than overdrafting your bank account. When you look at it like that, $5.95 isn’t a lot.
