The start of the new school years brought the opportunity to help out at my son’s school. One of the ways I will be helping out is with the sorting of Box Tops for Education. The woman in charge of collecting Box Tops for our school will be sending them home with my son for me to clip and sort and return back to the school.
His school’s is one out of over 90,000 K-8 schools that participate in the program. Their school goal this year is $1,821. Since I signed up for an account through the Box Tops website, I can view my son’s school’s goal progress.

Once you cut the Box Tops from the participating products, you send them into school with your child. The school than redeems the Box Tops coupons, each of which are worth $.10 each.
To date, participating schools have earned over $525 million. With many towns and cities make budgetary cutbacks that sometimes affect school funding, extra money comes in handy, providing additional funds for much needed books, field trips, playgrounds, etc. Each school, however, is limited to $20,000 per year. Checks are mailed to schools twice per year, in December and April.
