On the way back from dropping my brother off in Dover this morning, Blake and I had the following “baby talk”, which I found very humorous. I’m sure you’ll understand why once you read it.
*
Blake: “When am I going to have a baby brother and sister?”
Me: “I don’t know, buddy. Maybe someday.”
Blake: “But when?”
Me: “I don’t know.”
Blake: “Where will you get my baby brother and sister?”
Me: “Well, they’d come from mommy’s belly.”
Blake: “But how do they get in there?”
Me: “They just do.”
Blake: “How do they come out?”
Me: “The doctors take them out.”
Blake: “Do they pull them out?”
Me: “Yes, pretty much.”
Blake: “What if their feet are sticking out?”
Me: “Then they pull them out by their feet.”
Blake: “What if their legs fall off?”
Me: “Their legs won’t fall off.”
Blake: “Okay.” *pause* “How long will the babies be in your belly?”
Me: “They’d be in there a long time.”
Blake: “But how long?”
Me: “About nine months.”
Blake: “Is that a long time?”
Me: “Yes.”
Blake: “Okay.” *pause* “So when can I have a baby brother or sister?”
Me: “I still don’t know, buddy.”
Blake: “But I want a baby brother and sister. Can you have two in your belly? Is there room?”
Me: “Yes, there’s room.”
Blake: “Good. I want two.”
Me: “We’ll see.”
Blake: “What will my baby brother and sister’s names be?”
Me: “I don’t know.”
Blake: “Can we name my brother Blake-Joseph?”
Me: “No. Your name is Blake-Joseph.”
Blake: “No. My name is Blake Ireland Ireland.”
Me: “Well, we can’t name your baby brother Blake-Joseph.”
Blake: “Can they be helpers?”
Me: “Who?”
Blake: “My baby brother and sister. They can help me in Bamps in the garden.”
Me: “I guess they can.”
Blake: “Okay.”

And the conversation ended there. I was trying not to laugh because he was so serious about the conversation but it was the cutest thing.
He is so cute! Give him a squeeze for me!
