It would be an understatement to say it’s been a long time since I posted anything here. My last post was on June 12, 2018, when my son was finishing up baseball for the season. A lot has changed since then, and I do mean a lot.
- We lived through a pandemic.
- We watched our children graduate.
- Of the four kids, three are adults now.
- All three adults live on their own.
- One is married with a one-year-old baby, and she has another on the way. (Yes, I’m a grandma now at the age of 42.)
- The youngest is going to be 18 in September.
- We lost my father-in-law unexpectedly, and it set our world on end. My grandmother, my aunt, my cousin, and my husband’s best friend also passed away.
- We started new jobs and left some.
- I made new friends and said goodbye to others.
- We moved to a completely new town.
- We got two new dogs.
- I began homeschooling my youngest. It was the best decision I could have made for him.
- My youngest now has a job and his license.
I could go on and on, but you get the picture. My life no longer looks like it did. Where it was once filled with after-school activities, including sports, plays, appointments, etc., it no longer is. Yes, I still have the one child at home that I’m constantly busy with and four dogs who have kept us on our toes, but I also have more downtime now, which means I’ve also picked up new hobbies.
So, what does that mean for this site? Well, the topics I will be covering have shifted. I will still cover some parenting topics, but they won’t be as plentiful. I will be covering more posts on homesteading, wellness, and fitness, with some spiritual-related topics mixed in here and there.
