Like many of the people I know, my wallet is filled with rewards cards for various stores and restaurants. In fact, I actually have an entirely separate wallet for all of mine.
I know it can be confusing keeping all of them straight and what their benefits are, so from here on out, I’m going to write one post per week covering the benefits of different rewards cards.
This week’s card is for Shaw’s Supermarket, which has 22 locations in just Maine alone.
The official site for Shaw’s lists the benefits as follows:
- Instant savings on thousands of items
- Exclusive offers delivered to you on the products you use most
- Save money for college by registering your Shaw’s Rewards Card® with Upromise
- Automatic entry in valuable sweepstakes
In addition, you can also combine Shaw’s sales items with coupons, so if you’re lucky like I once was, you could end up getting items for FREE! (And as I’ve stated before, I’m a cheap bitch, so free items make me VERY happy.)
For example, I got 10 boxes of Betty Crocker Instant Flavored Potatoes for nothing because they were buy one get one free, and I had coupons for buy one get one, so that meant I paid for none of them. In fact, the store owed me, like $.13, or something like that, but they’re not one of the ones that actually give you money back. (There are some that do, though.)
Unfortunately, if you want to reap the benefits of Shaw’s sales items, you WILL need a rewards card. If you do not have one, you can sign up for one online, and in 2-3 weeks you’ll receive it in the mail. Or you can visit your local Shaw’s Supermarket and ask for one at the service desk.
