Disclosure: COOLA Suncare provided me with two free products in exchange for an honest review. No other compensation was given. All opinions expressed within this post are 100% my own, as are the photos.
Healthy skin should be important to everyone. After all, it’s what protects our muscles, bones, nerves, internal organs and more from damage. It also keeps us from getting infections. All too often, though, we take it for granted and abuse it. We stay outside for hours on end with no sunscreen on. We pick at it when there’s a pimple. We use products on it that contain so many different chemicals and additives that they actually do more harm than good.
I won’t say I’m perfect. I’ve definitely abused my skin too, but I do try and be conscious of the products I use on it because I know how sensitive my skin is. Though I don’t struggle with eczema like my mom and son, I do suffer from severe acne, including cystic acne, and as a result, have to read labels VERY carefully. When I can afford it, I prefer buying organic products because they don’t contain all the icky, nasty stuff that can make my skin dry or break out.
When COOLA offered to send me some of their products to review I was happy to oblige. I love trying out new products to see how they work on my skin. I’ve had good experiences and bad ones with various prodcuts I’ve tried. There are some I will never use again and others I’m more than happy to. The reviews on the COOLA products have been positive, and I wanted to add mine to the mix.
When I received my package from COOLA, the first thing that impressed me was the handwritten note that was included with my bars. I do not know if this is standard MO for them, but either way, I appreciated the gesture. It tells me they value my opinion as a blogger and as a potential customer.
I also appreciated that even though they were out of the item I chose to review, they sent me something similar to it. Again…bonus points.
Now onto the products themselves. I am a HUGE fan of products with shea butter in them. I’m not afraid to admit that I am one of the those who used lotions that contained during pregnancy to help deal with the stretchmarks on my growing belly. Ever since then, I’ve used products with shea butter because I love the way it makes my skin feel.
The COOLA products are top quality skincare items that I recommend to anyone who loves using products that are not only great for your skin but the environment as well.
I will say the products are a bit on the pricey side, so if you’re pinching pennies, these may not be your first choice. However, they’re definitely worth the price since they will last a long time. These are bars that will be gone in two days. So when you factor in the length of time you’ll have them, they don’t seem as pricey.
For review, I received a COOLA Cucumber Melon Hand Lotion Bar and a COOLA Unscented Body Lotion Bar.
The COOLA Cucumber Melon Hand Lotion Bar smells amazing and makes my hands feel smooth. I wash my hands frequently, so this bar definitely helps moisturize my hands.
The unscented bar works great on various dry spots on my body, like elbows, ankles and feet. I have a tendency of walking around barefoot most of the year, so this is a great way to keep them soft.
