To say these first few weeks of 2015 have been eventful would be an understatement. And I don’t mean in a good way. It’s been one sickness after another in our home…and outside it.
When I went to bed on the 31st of December, I had such lovely visions of what my life would be like in the new year. Little did I know that the fates had a different plan for our family, at least for the first few weeks.
On January 1st, I woke up feeling relatively good, but within a couple of hours, my stomach began flipping and by bedtime that night, I didn’t feel good at all. And by the next day, I felt worse. Since then, I was diagnosed with a sinus infection that required two different antibiotics. I’ve also dealt with an intermittent cough and sore throat throughout.
Then there’s my stepson who started with a cough on the third which developed into pneumonia.
Did I mention my husband was sick too?
And now we are up to my daughter who developed a sore throat two days ago. Last night we took her to her doctor’s office since her sore throat progressed to a slight fever, with chills, fatigue, etc. Surprise surprise, she has the flu.
As if all that wasn’t enough, I realized around 9pm that the tickle I’ve had in my throat has progressed. It hurts when I swallow…and I’m coughing again. Now I’m wondering if I was sick from a sinus infection before and now I actually have the flu. I mean you can’t catch it two times in a row can you?
Or maybe I’m experiencing a sore throat so I can truly test out the effectiveness of Chloraseptic® on a sore throat? Yeah…that must be it. No more illnesses for me.
Since my throat hurt a lot last night I tried out the new Chloraseptic® Warming Sore Throat Spray (Honey Lemon flavored), and I must say, it definitely numbs the pain.
And it doesn’t taste bad either, which is a bonus. I hate the taste of medicine, which is why I tend to avoid taking them when possible.
Last night wasn’t the first time I used Chloraseptic® products. I grew up watching my dad use Chloraseptic® spray, and when I was old enough, I started to as well.
I’ve also used the spray on my daughter for several years now. I love having it on hand for when one of us develops a sore throat, which happens a lot since most of us suffer from allergies. With our kids’ busy lifestyles, even if we are sick, we have running around to do, so we don’t have the opportunity to rest. Chloraseptic® provides us instantaneous on-the-go relief when we need it.
Keep up-to-date on cold and flu outbreaks in your area
With Chloraseptic®‘s Cold & Flu Tracker, you can stay on top of cold and flu outbreaks and symptoms in your area. All you need to do is visit the official Chloraseptic® site and enter your zip code in the required box and click “Track”.
When I used the tracker, the results showed that the cold and flu level in our area is at a moderate level with 8-14% of our experiencing the following symptoms: cough, nasal congestion and fever, which is accurate based on what I heard from my daughter’s doctor last night. (FYI: He also said that many of the flu patients they’ve seen aren’t showing classic flu symptoms.)
Chloraseptic facts:
- It’s the No. 1 pharmacist-recommended sore throat relief brand that’s great for the entire family. (Lozenges tied for the #1 spot!)
- Chloraseptic ®lozenges features a liquid center which provides fast-acting sore throat relief.
- The Total Lozenges also help cool nasal passages. (I gave my daughter one last night to help with her nasal issues, and she said they did help some. She was finally able to fall asleep.)
- The spray provides fast relief on contact also and comes in several flavors: Cherry, Warming Honey Lemon (my new favorite), Grape (for the kidlets) and Max Wild Berry
